Y-tea founder Thomas Cheung thanks everyone who took part in the Whitehaven beach clean for making this event a great success.
Cumbrian tea merchants Y-tea of the Lake District has recently teamed up with Midas Watches, Club 135 and Ennerdale Brewery for a clean-up project in Whitehaven. Attended by more than 40 people, the clean-up event took place on Sunday 28th April, 2019 and it was a great success.
“I am really pleased with the turnout and the effort everyone has put in, I hope we can make this into a monthly event and encourage more people to join us for this great local cause.” Said Thomas, while sharing his thoughts and gratitude for the cleanup event. “This cleanup project was for our beautiful town and we successfully finished by picking up more than twenty bags of rubbish.” He added.
Followed by the cleanup event, the participants gathered at Club 135 for a buffet, where it was announced that it will turn into a monthly event. In addition, Thomas also expressed his special thanks to Midas Watches for donating a watch, Club 135 for providing the venue and the buffet and Ennerdale Brewery for donating a wine tour voucher. According to one of the local participant, the event is a perfect opportunity to teach children how to give back to the community.
