where it all began
What was once a dream had become reality for our founder Thomas in 2018 when he started selling great tea at the Keswick Market, located in the heart of the English Lake District. With great tea and great passion, business was booming!
committed to excellence
Business was booming! The end, right? No, we didn't just stop there. We continued improving ourselves by launching new blends and teas from different origins so we can provide our customers with a truly memorable tea experience, and it seems to be working... what's next?
As our business grew, our workspace was becoming smaller and smaller so what did we do? We moved to a new office! We now have a beautiful Y-tea office, an effective workshop and plenty of storage space!
in the new office
With a much more effective working environment, we were more driven than ever before! We are constantly working very hard to introduce our great tea to retailers so our tea friends can easily enjoy a cup of Y-tea in the comfort of their own home.
our first shop!
Thanks to our awesome customers continued support, we have finally opened our first shop in West Cumbria! To support other local businesses, we have a dedicated display of local produce where you can find some of the best produce Cumbria has to offer! So what's next?
new look, and new stars!
So earlier this year (2020), we entered 4 of our tea into the well-known Great Taste Awards... and all four entries were winners! Our Earl Grey was even rated the highest amongst its competitions that other tea companies had submitted.
And if that isn't exciting enough, we now have a whole new look! As most of our work has been in the Lake District, we felt like this was something we wanted to incorporate into our brand. Therefore as we look forward to the next phase of our growth, we thought it's time to refresh our brand to reflect our home, Cumbria.
Our new space is bigger, better, more suitable for us and most importantly, we can now blend and store much more tea which means cheaper brews for our customers! Yay!
to be continued...
meet the founder
Growing up in a family with a strong Asian background, Thomas was introduced to the world of teas at a very early age, and it didn't take long for Thomas to develop a strong interest in the art of quality tea production.
After Thomas graduated from Northumbria University, he founded Y-tea of the Lake District, with a mission to share his passion for tea with the world and to get everyone drinking great tea.
Having vowed to never compromise on quality, Y-tea of the Lake District has won both praise and a loyal following for the company's commitment to excellence.
